SIKELIA acque di Sicilia was born in 2021 from an idea of Salvo Scarpaci, a Sicilian designer and owner of the brand.
"Conceiving and then realizing this project was a long process of research and study on the world of perfumes, Sicilian myths and legends, and materials. I gave a precise name to the emotions I want to arouse with our fragrances: I MOTI DELL'ANIMA, understood as an awakening of consciousness toward a lost culture."
The Sikelia (which means Sicily in Greek) brand wants to tell the mythology and legends of Sicily through its fragrances and decorative objects.
The choice of materials and the shape of the caps, real ceramic decorations and symbols of Sicily, has been the subject of much research: THE PIGNA, since ancient times a symbol of the cosmic egg, also symbolizes fertility, in fact it was used to decorate the bedrooms of newlyweds, as an omen of a large family. But it also symbolizes the fertility of the spirit, which renews and develops.
THE MORO HEADS, inspired by one of Sicily's best-known stories, a symbol of love and jealousy have spawned Caltagirone's ceramic masterpieces. Recognized worldwide , the Teste di Moro are an icon of style and trend that tell the story of tradition.
Each individual perfume stopper is handmade in Caltagirone and embellished with a satin tassel. The case although in a different material is inspired by ceramics, celebrating the art of Sicilian majolica in a modern key.
In the work of creating the fragrances , Sikelia was not interested in the most fashionable essences of the moment, it did not start from composition but from storytelling, from what it wanted to tell.

The 5 fragrances tell legends and fantastic stories : NIKOS is inspired by the legend of Colapesce and his passion for the sea, TRISKELÈ the love of one's land but also the story of the Moorheads with MORUS and KALSA , and ATMA interprets the envy and anger of Enceladus and the revenge of Zeus.

The successful marriage of fragrance and ceramics has inspired a line of artifacts called Sikelia Elements.
Three Sicilian ceramic Pinecones in brilliant red, blue and green, colors inspired by fire, sea and earth. Their value is hidden in the long and meticulous handwork that makes these objects as unique as they are precious.
In addition to the Decorative Pinecones, the collection includes 3 Scented Candles, matched with perfumes. Enclosed in enchanting half cones of Sicilian ceramics, once consumed the candles become precious design objects.
The Sikelia Elements collection, completely hand-decorated and embellished with pure gold decorations, was dedicated to the artistic perfume line whose colors and spirit they bring back.
